War of 1812 Casualty Database

"Time does not diminish their sacrifice" - Lieutenant General Jonathon Riley

Acknowledgments

This database would not have been possible without help from many people.

The 41st Military Living History Group provided the funds to operate this website.  In addition, Raymond Hobbs and Tom Fournier provided extensive research material on the 41st Regiment of Foot specifically and the War of 1812 in general.  Recently the 41st have donated the revenue generated from their lecture series to cover the costs of another Regiment.  The 41st website is www.fortyfirst.org

Chris Wedlake, of Morris Code, coded the entire database and website.  He has proven to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout the design process.

The Upper Thames Military Reenactment Society (www.royal-scots.com) has provided extensive support, both financial and emotional.

Douglas Hendry has done extensive research on the casualties of the War of 1812 in various campaigns.  His work is what inspired this website and we have made excellent use of his research and his sources.

Peter Monahan has assisted with the research of many of the Regiments, especially the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.  This project would be much further behind without his extensive help.

Keith Hollick has provided extensive research and knowledge about the Royal Marines.  All casualties of the Royal Marines are from his research, and he has proved extremely helpful in understanding the structure and background to this Corps.
